Beiriz x ESMAD: Tradition Meets Innovation

A century of craftsmanship. A new generation of ideas.
At Beiriz, we believe that tradition only grows stronger when it is challenged, reinterpreted and seen through new eyes. That belief led us to collaborate with ESMAD — Escola Superior de Media Artes e Design — as an industrial partner for their Master's Degree in Design.
The brief was simple in concept, but rich in possibility: take more than a century of Portuguese craftsmanship and explore it through the lens of contemporary design thinking.
The results were presented at FEST, ESMAD's annual showcase of creative work, where each student project offered a unique interpretation of Beiriz — approaching our heritage through editorial design, visual identity, storytelling, exhibition concepts and new ways of communicating a legacy built since 1919.
What emerged was not a single vision, but many. Each project brought a different perspective to the same source of inspiration, revealing how a brand rooted in tradition can speak in many voices without losing its identity.
For Beiriz, this collaboration was more than a partnership. It was a reminder that design is, at its core, a dialogue — between tradition and innovation, between those who carry a legacy and those who imagine its future.-
We are grateful to the students of ESMAD for the creativity, dedication and fresh perspective they brought to this journey. Seeing our legacy reimagined through their work has been one of the most inspiring experiences we have had the privilege to be part of.
